Our body remembers

Do you listen to your body?

Short term stress can be good in order to do what is necessary to survive. But too much of it, or displaced stress can cause inflammation in blood vessels, organs, and muscles being at the root of some diseases and disorders. A weekly or monthly massage gives us the experience of feeling totally relaxed and be stress-free. Massage is also helpful in reducing pain in specific areas like low back , neck and shoulder. Massage can help loosen restricted muscles that may be causing pain, thereby providing a greater freedom of movement.

Every year there’s a new study on how massage is beneficial for your overall health and well-being. After a massage you will feel great, less stressed and more energized. The “Treatments of Massage” has been around since the time of the Romans. The Romans understood the stress of battle and how important it was to have not only a healthy body but also a healthy mental balance. We know that numerous benefits of massage will help improve circulation and blood flow and help the body to naturally release toxins and will speed up the healing process

Our body is made up of molecules; in turn, these molecules produce impulses which we call energy. The amount of oxygen and exercise will contribute much of that energy supply to the body. However, in the case of unexpected stress or unresolved grievances they can cause the body to have energy blockages. On a cellular level, the body remembers; there are memories stored in our muscles and tissues. When using the treatment of massage it can target areas of concern and the cause of pain on an emotional level.

The energy balance can help to heal re-occurring pain and injuries as well as calming the mind and help it to center and re-focus. Whether the pain is physical, emotional or spiritual. Nowadays, we have become more familiar with just how important it is to treat not only the body but also the mind and the spirit. When we take responsibility of our physical, emotional well being we are also improving the quality of our lives. When we are in the state of healing ourselves on all levels; we are also healing our relationship with others.

Here are 3 ways to treat your body with care and to awaken your inner connection:

First, Listen to your body. I mean really listen with your heart. If you are faced with making a choice, feel your body. Do you tense up? Or smile? Or feel at ease? So many times we fall into the unconscious trap and let our mind run the show of our life. Practice being still, breathing, and taking notes of what your body is trying to tell you.

Second, Replace the negative with the positive. This is the part where you develop trust. Many people (in fact, I bet every human on earth) think all sorts of not-so-nice things about their bodies, but there is a way to practice self-love and care. For example, when you catch yourself saying or thinking judgmental things to yourself say (out loud), “Stop!” Replace the self-criticism with something gentle, loving, without judgment. This takes a bit of time, but slowly and surely your mind won’t take you to those dark places.

Finally, take action: Move your body by taking a walk, hiking, going for a bike ride or even going surfing. Any way you can get out in nature and move will help you experience how magical your body is. It breathes for you, pumps blood without you knowing, just to keep you alive. Use your five senses to take in your life—to connect to your body. Celebrate your body—its beauty, strength, and power. You are beautiful inside and out. Treat your precious body with lots of care. Listen, connect, and trust.

“Your body is precious. Treat it with care.” Be Well and Enjoy Life!
