Massage for Moms

Why Moms needs a massage

Moms need a massage because it helps them to stay healthy. According to The American Massage Therapy Association, “Recent medical research indicates that massage therapy may help boost your immune system by increasing the activity level of the body’s natural ‘killer T cells,’ which fight off viruses.” An elevated immune system can help you stay healthy and at the top of your game so that you can continue to keep your family happy and healthy.

Moms need a massage because it elevates their mood and gives them comfort. Scientists have found that human touch has a medicinal quality that is still not fully understood today. Recent studies show that massage therapy can elevate your mood and improve your overall mental outlook on life. Therapeutic touch increases circulation and releases endorphins that make us feel content and happy.

A massage will provide the pampering they deserve. For some moms, it’s not easy to get any personal pampering due to busy schedules. Vivanti’s offers in-home therapeutic massages that give you the benefit of your massage therapist’s healing hands right in your own home. Moms need a massage because it lowers anxiety and stress, so you can feel rejuvenated, serene, peaceful and ready to take on all the challenges you may face.

Moms need a massage because it helps them stay physically fit, and it helps eliminate common aches and pains. Lower back pain, shoulder aches, sore knees or stiff necks can hinder a mom’s ability to care for her family. A massage can help eliminate or reduce these aches and pains and promotes a healthy, strong body.

Our body remembers

Our body remembers

Do you listen to your body?

Short term stress can be good in order to do what is necessary to survive. But too much of it, or displaced stress can cause inflammation in blood vessels, organs, and muscles being at the root of some diseases and disorders. A weekly or monthly massage gives us the experience of feeling totally relaxed and be stress-free. Massage is also helpful in reducing pain in specific areas like low back , neck and shoulder. Massage can help loosen restricted muscles that may be causing pain, thereby providing a greater freedom of movement.

Every year there’s a new study on how massage is beneficial for your overall health and well-being. After a massage you will feel great, less stressed and more energized. The “Treatments of Massage” has been around since the time of the Romans. The Romans understood the stress of battle and how important it was to have not only a healthy body but also a healthy mental balance. We know that numerous benefits of massage will help improve circulation and blood flow and help the body to naturally release toxins and will speed up the healing process

Our body is made up of molecules; in turn, these molecules produce impulses which we call energy. The amount of oxygen and exercise will contribute much of that energy supply to the body. However, in the case of unexpected stress or unresolved grievances they can cause the body to have energy blockages. On a cellular level, the body remembers; there are memories stored in our muscles and tissues. When using the treatment of massage it can target areas of concern and the cause of pain on an emotional level.

The energy balance can help to heal re-occurring pain and injuries as well as calming the mind and help it to center and re-focus. Whether the pain is physical, emotional or spiritual. Nowadays, we have become more familiar with just how important it is to treat not only the body but also the mind and the spirit. When we take responsibility of our physical, emotional well being we are also improving the quality of our lives. When we are in the state of healing ourselves on all levels; we are also healing our relationship with others.

Here are 3 ways to treat your body with care and to awaken your inner connection:

First, Listen to your body. I mean really listen with your heart. If you are faced with making a choice, feel your body. Do you tense up? Or smile? Or feel at ease? So many times we fall into the unconscious trap and let our mind run the show of our life. Practice being still, breathing, and taking notes of what your body is trying to tell you.

Second, Replace the negative with the positive. This is the part where you develop trust. Many people (in fact, I bet every human on earth) think all sorts of not-so-nice things about their bodies, but there is a way to practice self-love and care. For example, when you catch yourself saying or thinking judgmental things to yourself say (out loud), “Stop!” Replace the self-criticism with something gentle, loving, without judgment. This takes a bit of time, but slowly and surely your mind won’t take you to those dark places.

Finally, take action: Move your body by taking a walk, hiking, going for a bike ride or even going surfing. Any way you can get out in nature and move will help you experience how magical your body is. It breathes for you, pumps blood without you knowing, just to keep you alive. Use your five senses to take in your life—to connect to your body. Celebrate your body—its beauty, strength, and power. You are beautiful inside and out. Treat your precious body with lots of care. Listen, connect, and trust.

“Your body is precious. Treat it with care.” Be Well and Enjoy Life!

Neck Pain

Neck Pain

Do you have neck pain?

Neck pain is an incredibly common problem: it affects a third of the population each year. Stress or muscle strain are often the culprit, and they can be ongoing. If you use pain medications, which may help the problem temporarily, remember they can have some serious risks. What is neck pain? Neck pain is just pain in the neck! Pain can be localized to the cervical spine or may radiate down an arm. All age groups are at risk of developing neck pain. People who sit in one location staring at computer screens for long periods of time may be at an increased risk. Neck pain may occur slightly more frequently in women than men.

What causes neck pain?

Your neck generally is tight because of prolonged forward head posture which puts a continuous strain on the neck and shoulders. The human head, which averages 12 pounds in weight has an effective weight on the spine of 42 pounds when it’s 3 inches forward of the shoulders. Repeated texting, emailing and gaming can literally become a pain in the neck. To avoid this strain build up your upper body and try to keep devices at eye level.

Other episodes of neck pain can be caused by the wearing out of the structures (mechanical) of the neck, which is associated with aging, or with overuse of the neck or arms. The common mechanical disorders that cause neck pain are the following: Muscle strains usually related to prolonged physical activity such as sitting at computer terminals for extended periods of time. Acute strain also may occur after sleeping in an awkward position. Other possible causes can be osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, whiplash, rheumatoid arthritis.

Tips

Don’t wear a heavy bag on only one shoulder Watch your posture, especially when doing something for an extended period of time. Try getting a massage or putting something warm on the back of your neck Massage your neck moving up and down, or side to side. Tilt your head down and up, side to side then left and right slowly. Locate the soreness or dull ache in the muscles. Use moderate pressure with fingers or your thumbs to areas of pain. Breathe. Allow the tender point to release with moderate pressure for about 12 seconds and release. Apply moist heat after self-treatment. Stretch after applying heat. Breathe.

How to prevent neck pain

Avoid slouching or a head-forward posture. Sit straight in your chair with your lower back supported, feet flat on the floor and shoulders relaxed. Don’t sit for long periods without getting up or changing positions. Take short breaks several times an hour to stretch your neck muscles. If you work at a computer, adjust the monitor so the top of the screen is at eye level. Use a document holder that puts your work at the same level as the screen. If you use the telephone a lot, use a headset or speaker phone. Don’t cradle the phone on your shoulder. For neck pain caused by sleep habits Use a pillow that keeps your neck straight.

Special neck support pillows called cervical pillows or rolls may relieve neck stress. You can also fold a towel lengthwise into a pad that is 4 inches wide, wrap it around your neck and pin it in position for good support. Don’t sleep on your stomach with your neck twisted or bent. If you read in bed, prop up the book so you aren’t using your arms to hold it up and bending your neck forward. Consider using a wedge-shaped pillow to support your arms and keep your neck in a neutral position. Other prevention tips: If stress is adding to your neck pain, practice relaxation exercises. Consider getting a massage. A new study finds that massage can be a good way to relieve neck pain. Study suggest the most effective treatment time is about 60 minutes. Strengthen and protect your neck by doing neck exercises once a day.
